Today, more than 3,300 of you are actively supporting our projects. To all of you, we say a huge thank you for your generosity and trust! Among all our donors, 575 people have committed to sponsoring our projects through a monthly donation. Michel De Visscher is one of our ‘sponsors’. He explains his approach…

Michel De VisscherMichel De Visscher is one of our most loyal donors. He has been supporting Louvain Coopération since 2002! “I’ve known the NGO for a very long time because I had a niece, Astrid De Visscher, who worked there in the accounts department,” he explains. “Louvain Coopération’s philosophy has always interested me because their projects have a long-term focus. I appreciate the way they work with local NGOs. Because, in fact, it is always a local organisation that takes charge of the project to be developed.

Michel also had the chance, several years ago, to see the work on the ground for himself. “We went to see projects they were running in Benin and Burkina Faso. It was around the time they were launching the mutual health schemes. We were all people likely to support the NGO and each of us funded our own trip. I found it very interesting. These projects may seem abstract from the outside because you can’t see the construction of a school, for example, but it’s a long-term endeavour, with a lasting aim.

Since 2018, he has been supporting Louvain Coopération through a monthly donation. « I made this choice primarily because it’s much easier. I know for certain that I’ve set aside at least that amount for Louvain Coopération every year, and it happens automatically – otherwise you tend to forget. I think it’s a really good option.

Monthly donations: plan, save, and ‘go green’!

For Louvain Coopération, monthly support allows us to better plan: by knowing the amounts we will have available in the coming months, we can carry out projects whilst keeping the associated costs under control.

We can also make savings: donors who have placed their trust in us through a monthly donation are contacted less frequently, so we save on the costs associated with reaching out to them.

It is also a gesture for the environment as we send fewer letters to our regular donors.

Please remember that you are free to cancel this standing order at any time by contacting our team or your bank. And, finally, you will not have to give any more. You can simply divide the amount you give us annually into twelve monthly instalments…

Think about it – we’ll all come out on top!

To set up a monthly donation, you can: fill in the form enclosed with each of our letters; call us on 010 390 300; or visit our website, ticking the ‘I donate every month’ option.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
