CONTEXT

Through its Food and Economic Security Programme, Louvain Coopération supports entrepreneurs, individuals and organisations (agriculture-related and others), to better produce, consume and market.

For many years, we wondered how to fulfil this mission while integrating, in a systematic and pragmatic manner, productivity, competitiveness and environmental constraints.

PURPOSE

This Environmental Integration Tool (EIT) Approach has been designed to bring a structured attention to environmental issues linked to a production programme or economic activity (agricultural or non-agricultural).

It aims to strengthen positive impacts and/or mitigate negative impacts, first, of the environment on the programme (or an economic activity), and second, of the programme (or an economic activity) on the environment.
