Did you know that 70% of the Beninese population lives from agriculture?
Today, this fundamental pillar of the economy and local life is seriously threatened. The massive and uncontrolled use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides destroys soil, pollutes vital natural resources and has a direct impact on the health of thousands of people.
Every year, farmers, children and entire families fall ill, or lose their lives, after being exposed to these toxic substances. It is urgent to act to change this reality.
A solution? Agroecology*.
Thanks to your support, we recently helped 150 Beninese farmers adopt agroecological practices to protect their health and their environment, but also regain their autonomy.
Our objective: Support 300 additional Beninese farmers to adopt agroecological practices to protect their health and their environment but also regain their autonomy.
