South Kivu: thank you so much for your solidarity

Almost four months ago, we launched an appeal to support the people of South Kivu. The invasion of this eastern province of the DRC by M23 rebel troops left hundreds of thousands of people displaced, towns looted and ransacked, and a population in mourning and terror. Thanks to your support, we were able to act quickly to supply health centres in the region. Thank you.

Many of you responded to our appeal in response to the humanitarian emergency that is severely affecting the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Your gesture has a huge impact: it enables us to continue supporting the most vulnerable communities in South Kivu and prevent a major health crisis.

With the funds raised, we can:

  • Provide essential generic medicines to treat patients and replenish safety stocks in health centres
  • Supply health facilities with nutritional inputs for the most vulnerable children
  • Distribute emergency PEP kits to prevent post-exposure HIV infections
  • And support women through an economic resilience fund to encourage female entrepreneurship.

On behalf of the entire Louvain Coopération team and our local partners, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your solidarity is invaluable. It strengthens the resilience of communities that have been severely affected and gives them new hope for the future.
