On October 22, Louvain Coopération announced its alliance with two other Belgian associations, Geomoun and Rotary Clubs For Development. This strategic merger aims to strengthen the impact of our three organizations by uniting our efforts and developing new concrete and sustainable projects for the communities we serve.

In the coming weeks, we will highlight the initiatives of Geomoun and Rotary Clubs For Development, which will now enrich our common mission. We begin this series by introducing you to Geomove, a flagship project from Geomoun.

Geomove: An international network for youth engagement

Geomove is an international network dedicated to children and young people, designed to support them in their civic commitment for a more just, united and sustainable society. This digital platform brings together and promotes citizen initiatives led by young people from around the world, helping to create a dynamic of collective change.

Projects shared within the framework of Geomove meet several criteria: they must be linked to one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), carried out on a voluntary basis and led by young people and/or children under 26 years. The idea is to promote the visibility and development of these initiatives while encouraging young people to inspire each other and support each other in their actions.

Geomove objectives and values

With Geomove, the objective is to build bridges between young people from different regions, by facilitating exchanges and mutual inspiration. The platform aims to be a place where each initiative can be shared and promoted, offering young people logistical support and increased visibility for their citizen projects. Geomove is designed to become a real space for exchange and co-creation, allowing young people, girls and boys, to strengthen their commitment and actively participate in building a more sustainable world.

Specific objectives of Geomove include:

  • Mobilize and inspire young people around initiatives in favor of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations.
  • Promote citizen projects with societal impact via social networks to reach a wide audience.
  • Network young people committed to the same themes, thus facilitating the sharing of ideas and mutual support.
  • Provide increased visibility to the referenced projects to encourage their influence and recognition.
  • Provide ongoing support for the creation, monitoring, and management of projects, thus helping young people to structure their initiatives and progress.

Geomove: a springboard for committed youth

Geomove aims to be a catalyst for youth civic engagement on an international scale. At Louvain Coopération, we aim to encourage young people to act for change, to promote their right to participation, and to create together a more inclusive and resilient society.

Thanks to this merger, Louvain Coopération and its new partners are committed to supporting and promoting the voice of young people, by offering them concrete means of active participation, so that they become the actors of tomorrow.
