On October 22, Louvain Coopération announced its alliance with two other Belgian associations, Geomoun and Rotary Clubs For Development. This strategic merger aims to strengthen the impact of our three organizations by uniting our efforts and developing new concrete and sustainable projects for the communities we serve.

In the coming weeks, we will highlight the initiatives of Geomoun and Rotary Clubs For Development, which will now enrich our common mission. After introducing you to Geomove by Geomoun, we move on to the Vision Inclusive project of Rotary Clubs For Development.

Inclusive Vision: Promoting Integrated Access to Eye Care

The Inclusive Vision project aims to improve access to basic social services for the most vulnerable people, by integrating eye care services into primary health structures. This program aims to offer more women, men, girls and boys quality care, particularly in terms of visual health, while opening up educational or professional prospects.

Capacity building and training

The training of local providers, with particular attention to women, constitutes one of the pillars of this intervention. At the same time, the program supports basic training for visually impaired children as well as vocational training for young people living on the streets.

Sustainable provision of essential inputs

Vision Inclusive aims to strengthen the Lubumbashi regional distribution center to ensure a continuous supply of medicines and other essential eye care products. This ensures the sustainability of care in hospitals in the affected areas.

Raising awareness and promoting access to services

The program collaborates with local stakeholders to ensure that mechanisms facilitating access to care are well implemented in target regions. Awareness campaigns are organized to encourage the schooling of visually impaired children and facilitate access for street youth to professional training.

Optimization of operational and logistical capacities of partner structures

To ensure the sustainability and impact of the program, Vision Inclusive supports partner structures in order to optimize their strategic and operational functioning. The program also provides partners with the necessary materials and equipment. Some partners benefit from new infrastructure, designed to meet the needs of women, people living with disabilities, and respect environmental standards.
