Mangroves :
these forests that protect the planet
There is an urgent need to put a stop to the destruction of mangroves
Mangroves, these coastal forests, protect biodiversity, capture vast amounts of carbon, slow down coastal erosion and provide a livelihood for millions of fishermen around the world.
Today, they are threatened with extinction: 40% of the world’s mangroves have disappeared and deforestation continues.
Communities living near mangroves are working alongside us to save this natural treasure. Together, they have already reforested 105 hectares, whilst adapting their practices to limit logging and overfishing.
THE FUTURE TAKES ROOT TODAY.
Together, let’s protect the mangroves.

Special Feature: Mangroves
Mangroves are dense forests of intertwined stilt-like trees, situated between land and sea in the intertropical zones. This magnificent and unique ecosystem accounts for less than 0.03% of the world’s land area, which might seem rather insignificant. And yet!
