By supporting women's entrepreneurship, I am changing lives for good.
The economic insecurity of women in South Kivu has worsened dramatically since the M23 invasion. Inflation and the loss of countless jobs have driven many men to work in the mines, leaving their wives alone with their children. Faced with growing insecurity and a collapsing economy, these women now bear the full responsibility for their families’ survival.
Together with our partner, GEL South Kivu, we aim to support 100 women on their entrepreneurial journey. They will receive:
Technical support:
- Individual coaching at the workplace or within the business;
- Training in management tools and business plan development;
- Material support to help grow their activity (machines, tools, raw materials, or assistance with rent, depending on their needs).

Human and psychological support within the “Safe Space”:
- Individual therapy sessions;
- A childcare service for their young children;
- Group training sessions and discussion workshops.

€37,500 that’s the amount needed
to support 100 women entrepreneurs..
This festive season, donate the power to act.

"Here, women don’t have many options: starting an economic activity is almost our only way to earn an income. With the war, many women find themselves alone in supporting their families. As an entrepreneur, my goal is to create job opportunities for other women. I want my business to generate value, offer decent work, and contribute to my community’s development. But I can’t do it alone. I need guidance and support."

FAQ
Yes, as soon as you reach €40 in donations in a tax year, you will receive a tax certificate in February of the following year. For the time being, donations are 45% deductible for individuals, but this could decrease during the year, following the decisions of the new federal government.
Yes, monthly donations are a win-win situation for everyone. They allow you to spread your expenses more evenly, reduce our administrative costs and the amount of paper we send out, and provide a stable source of income for our projects. You can choose the amount and cancel at any time. For donations of £40 or more per year, you will automatically receive a tax receipt.
We have a team in each of our countries of operation, who are responsible for checking that the money actually reaches the project and the beneficiaries and is used in a way that creates the greatest possible positive impact. Accounts and supporting documents are also checked.
UCLouvain is committed to doubling donations from its staff to female entrepreneurs in Bukavu. This university solidarity campaign runs from 15/11/2025 to 30/11/2026. The doubling is capped at €35,000 in donations.
If you opt for a one-off donation, Louvain Coopération will keep you informed about its projects and you will receive calls for donations from time to time so that you can continue to support our projects.
If you start a direct debit, you will pay a fixed amount each month. Thanks to a direct debit, Louvain Coopération can plan its resources for the medium and long term and reduce its ecological footprint by directing less of its communication towards fundraising.
If you are interested in a direct debit, please contact us.
For more information, visit our donation page.
Of a donation of €100, €11 goes towards staff remuneration, €8 towards administrative and general costs and €2 goes towards finding a further €100. €79 goes directly to the projects.
